In Mexico, researchers have demonstrated that use of oyster mushrooms reduces diaper decomposition from 500 years to four months.  Researchers with the Autonomous Metropolitan University in Mexico City may have found a way to reduce some 18 billion non-biodegradable diapers to a delicious new source for oyster mushrooms.
