In Minnesota, Cortex has announced the commercial availability of EcoOcean, a new bioplastic that offers flexibility and strength; commercial and low-temperature backyard compostability, 77% annually renewable raw material content, anaerobic and marine biodegradability.  Moris Miksic, Cortex CEO, states, “EcoOcean will revolutionize the use of flexible packaging, especially in coastal areas of the world.”

Spanish biodiesel imports soar

In Spain, biodiesel imports are continuing to increase with May seeing the highest volume so far in 2011 at 84,580 metric tons, up from 75,766 tons in May 2010 and 79,817 tons during the previous month. So far 2011 imports through May total 403,011 tons, up from 275,873 tons during the same period last year.
