SunPower launches biodiesel plant in Wisconsin

In Wisconsin, SunPower has inaugurated its biodiesel production facility in Cumberland operating solely on locally-produced canola. It began operating a biodiesel pumping station open to the public in March with B11, B20 and B99 available. The company was partially funded by the Wisconsin Clean Transportation Program.

Philippines nixes ethanol tariff hike

In the Philippines, the National Economic and Development Authority (Neda) Board, composed of Cabinet secretaries and chaired by the President, has dismissed the request by the national ethanol producers association to raise the country’s tariff on ethanol imports to 20% from the current 1% because the industry is not yet able to supply domestic demand.
