GreenStar Biofuels granted tax abatements of up to $2.756M

In Alabama, GreenStar Biofuels will receive up to $2.756M in non-education property tax abatements over the next five years to build a $66m, 30.5 mgy biodiesel refinery in Theodore. The company plans to begin work in mid-to-late summer, with construction finished by mid-2014. The tax abatements were approved by the Mobile Industrial Development Board.

In Canada, Lignol invested A$2.5M to acquire 356 m shares of Australian Renewable Fuels Limited. The investment, combined with previous acquisitions, represents a 21.4% stake in ARW, and Lignol is now one of ARW’s largest shareholders. Lignol recently announced a line of credit with Difference Capital Funding, and covered the investment with this credit.
