Tell us about your company and it’s role in the Advanced Bioeconomy.

Via Separations offers a new platform for membrane filtration for the fractionation, purification, and separation of challenging feed streams.

Tell us about your role and what you are focused on in the next 12 months.

My role is to identify use cases for which membrane filtration can be applied to enable value streams for our customers. Because we are an early stage company, we can work with customers to develop applications and influence the direction of development as needs arise.
Reducing the dependence on evaporation and distillation separation techniques.

What do you feel are the most important milestones the industry must achieve in the next 5 years?   

If you could snap your fingers and change one thing about the Advanced Bioeconomy, what would you change? 

The lack of membranes in existing systems – and thus the language of membranes as a barrier to entry for our technology.
