In South Dakota, Aberdeen News reports Summit Carbon Solutions and a serial ethanol investor have filed suit against two counties for rules that could potentially impede Summit’s planned CO2 pipeline across the Midwest, taking CO2 from ethanol plants to a site for sequestration. The federal lawsuit against Brown County follows the county commissioners’ approval on July 19 of a one-year moratorium on hazardous materials pipelines while the federal suit against Edmonds county is due to the county commissioners raising three feeds on hazardous pipelines in April after they passed a resolution saying they opposed the pipeline project.
