November 9, 2022 |

In Australia, Financial Review reported that Australian airline Qantas is currently having talks to import sustainable aviation fuel into Australia.

Qantas is currently working with Airbus to start local supply and is also looking for SAF imports. It currently uses a blend of SAF and conventional jet fuel on some flights out of London and has plans to do so for US outbound flights, according to the report.

The report also noted that BP currently supplies SAF to Qantas in the UK, adding that the Australian airline is talking to various suppliers in different ports as it considers supplies nearer to its home market. “We want to start using SAF out of Australia as soon we can,” a Qantas spokeswoman said.
