Mexico seeks proposals to accelerate SAF production

In Mexico, Aviacion News reported that the main aviation companies and associations in Mexico called on the country’s academy and research institutions to submit proposals on ways to accelerate the production and scalability of SAF in the country.

According to the report, interested parties will have time to submit their proposals until January 31, 2023. The winning projects will be revealed during the next FAMEX aerospace fair in April.

The main players in the aviation industry, including the National Chamber of Aerotransport (CANAERO), the Mexican Council for Aerospace Education (COMEA), the Mexican Federation of the Aerospace Industry (FEMIA), the Mexico Aerospace Fair (FAMEX), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Initiative for Sustainable Aviation Fuels in Mexico (ICSA), Viva Aerobus and Volaris have partnered with Airbus to consolidate Mexico’s experience and assess how the country can accelerate fuel production.
