December 8, 2022 |

In Oman, Gcaptain reported that Oman’s state-owned energy company OQ is set to study the feasibility of producing green ammonia and green methanol under an agreement with A.P. Moller-Maersk, Japan’s Sumitomo and Omani logistics provider Asyad.

OQ had announced in September that it has started production of ammonia at its new Dhofar Governorate plant, which could potentially be transitioned to operate on solar and wind energy.

According to the report, the $463 million plant project has a designed capacity of 1,000 metric tons per day of ammonia and is fully integrated with the methanol plant already located at the site.
