In Nebraska, DTN reports CHS says 9 million more acres of soybeans needs to be grown to supply the soybean crushing and renewable diesel plants under construction, which will force farmers to move away from corn and towards soybeans to meet that demand. But even shifting corn acres to soy won’t be enough as states move towards low carbon fuel standards that will create even more demand for those fuels, and alluded to feedstock having to come from outside the US, that US farmers won’t be able to supply all of the future demand.
