Shree Renuka Sugars expanding ethanol production significantly at two mills

February 14, 2023 |

In India, the Business Standard newspaper reports that Shree Renuka Sugars is launching a major ethanol production capacity expansion project where its Athani distillery will produce 450,000 liters of ethanol per day from the current 300,000 liters while its Munoli distillery will more than trip to 500,000 liters per day from the current 150,000 liters. As one of the leading sugarcane milling companies in the country, the company has leaned heavily into the government’s push to ramp up ethanol ahead of the 20% blending mandate schedule for the 2025/26 season which already kicked off with E20 available at some pumps as of this month.
