June 13, 2023 |

In Oman, Zawya news agency reports Omani-British green energy venture X2E has invested $1.4 million in Wakud with another $3.4 million potentially on the way, which will allow the two to increase Wakud’s biofuel production capacity by 10-fold with a new facility. That facility will produce up to 250 metric tons of biofuels per day and cost between $120 million and $150 million, with most of that funding coming directly from X2E. Wakud currently produces 20 tons per day of biofuel from waste cooking oil.
