In Canada, Simple Flying reported that US companies participating in the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Workshop have identified Egypt as a promising candidate for establishing a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) hub in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Minister Counselor of Commercial Affairs at the US Embassy in Cairo, Keith Kirkham, said that US companies are actively exploring various ways of collaboration with Egypt in the realm of SAF production. He emphasized that these companies are eager to forge partnerships with both Egypt’s private and public sectors to advance SAF initiatives in the country, according to the report.
Director of Fuel and Emission at EgyptAir Ahmed Mattar said that Egypt is qualified to be a hub of SAF production in Africa and the region, the report added.
