In Sweden, Ship & Bunker report ScanOcean and Neste have expanded their collaboration to include a new co-processed DMA MGO bunker fuel that reduces GHG emissions by 80% compared to purely fossil fuel DMA MGO. The fossil based MGO costs $943 per metric ton while the fuel co-processed with Neste’s bio component costs around $1,700 per ton. The fuel will be made available to vessels along the Swedish east coast with clients already indicating interest in buying it.
