In Bulgaria, Renewables Now reported that the European Commission launched a new initiative that will help Mauritania develop its green hydrogen industry.

The new initiative falls under the “Team Europe approach” and is backed by the EC, France, Germany, Spain and the European Investment Bank (EIB).

EC President Von der Leyen and the Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani presented this new Team Europe Initiative (TEI) for Mauritania on the eve of the Global Gateway Forum, taking place in Brussels on October 25-26.

“With its sun and wind, Mauritania has a vast renewable energy potential. The EU fully shares its ambition to develop as a hub for green hydrogen,” Von der Leyen stated.
