In Brazil, Reuters reports JBS has started a project to introduce the use of 100% biodiesel (B100) in its own fleet of trucks, in a test that seeks to give visibility to the environmental advantages of biofuel compared to diesel, in line with the company’s commitments to decarbonize its operations, especially in the area of transportation.
The initiative will test the use of B100 produced at the JBS Biodiesel unit in Lins (SP), in three vehicles from the Dutch automaker DAF.
The company’s project aims to prove the quality of biodiesel as a substitute for diesel in the Brazilian road logistics matrix, JBS highlighted, confronting some entities linked to the transport sector that cite problems in engines with a greater mixture of biofuel, which sector denies it.
