In Denmark, Maersk signed a landmark green methanol offtake agreement with Chinese developer Goldwind, a global leader in clean energy, that reaches into the next decade and marks the first large scale green methanol offtake agreement for the global shipping industry. The agreement significantly de-risking its low-emission operations in this decade.
The commercially viable long-term offtake agreement for annual volumes of 500,000 will enable low carbon operations for the first 12 large methanol-enabled Maersk vessels on order.
