In Brazil, BiodieselBR reports Petrobras is advancing with tests of a new type of marine fuel oil (bunker) with 24% biodiesel. Earlier this month, a container ship operating on coastal shipping routes on the Brazilian coast was filled with 860,000 liters of the mixture. The supply operation took place at the Rio Grande Terminal (RS). The biofuel portion was produced from animal fats and is ISCC EU RED certified. The mixture is expected to reduce GHG emissions by 19% compared to standard marine bunker fuel.
