In India, MoneyControl reports that the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri believes that growing demand is sufficient support for the biofuel industry and that further subsidies aren’t necessary. For those plants that are very expensive to build, he says the oil marketing companies will build them, so there isn’t need for additional financial support. With compressed biogas now mandated for blending, production of that fuel is now also expected to increase.
