In the UK, IATA reported that Juan Carlos Salazar, Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), said that the entity prefer not to promote any particular incentives or policies to scale SAF production but rather respect the different approaches that governments are taking and enable practical learning. “Time will demonstrate which ones are more effective,” the executive said. “We also want to work more with developing member states to produce feasibility studies that identify potential opportunities and create a framework that will de-risk investment in SAF production. We need to build SAF production capacity and provide a concrete way forward,” Salazar added.
