In Norway, Global Defense News reports the Norwegian Ministry of Defense announced it will begin using sustainable aviation fuel in its F-35s by the end of the year, which it has yet to do so far. The US Navy, Royal Air Force and militaries in Brazil, France and Germany have all trialed biofuels in their combat aircraft. The switch to biofuels is seen as a strategic way to reduce reliance on fossil fuel imports for military use, although Norway is a major fossil fuel producer.
