In the UK, International Airport Review reported that Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) has partnered with SkyClean with the aim of having a SAF production plant at the airport. The report noted that SkyClean is currently in the process of signing a land lease agreement, in order to build a sustainable aviation fuel production facility at the airport. Once complete, PIT will be the first major airport in the US to have SAF production on-site, the report added. The proposed facility would be capable of producing 25 million gallons of unblended SAF annually, with future production up to 75 million gallons – enough to supply all the fuelling needs at PIT and other airports in the Midwest and Northeast, the report added.
