In Spain, Técnicas Reunidas has entered into a significant agreement with IGNIS to provide engineering services for the development of up to five green ammonia projects throughout Spain, with potential investments totaling over €5 billion. This collaboration is part of the Ignis P2X project, initiated with KKR, which focuses on developing sustainable hydrogen and ammonia solutions for industries with challenging decarbonization paths.
The agreement involves Técnicas Reunidas handling the engineering aspects from the initial feasibility studies through to the final detailed design and technology selection. This comprehensive approach aims to ensure the successful execution of the projects, which are strategically aligned with both IGNIS’ focus on renewable energy and Técnicas Reunidas’ decarbonization strategy, simply known as ‘track’. One of track’s main commitments is the creation of investment opportunities in decarbonization projects.
Furthermore, the activities carried out by Técnicas Reunidas through track are receiving an important boost within the framework of their strategic program, SALTA. The agreement with IGNIS aligns with SALTA’s main drivers – support for clients in the early stages of project development and the co-development of projects with prestigious energy sector companies.
