In Houston, industrial water treatment firm Kurita America has partnered with biobased chemicals firm Solugen to develop carbon-negative alternatives for water treatment.
The collaboration aims to replace petroleum-derived additives, such as phosphorous, with biobased alternatives. Kurita’s Tower NG series of cooling products utilizes new polymer technology and Solugen’s biodegradable corrosion inhibitor to achieve deposit and corrosion control.
By leveraging these biobased solutions, the Tower NG series eliminates the need for traditional organo-phosphonates while delivering equivalent or better results.
“Kurita’s shared vision for driving sustainability through innovative solutions makes them an ideal partner for expanding the use of Solugen’s carbon-negative products,” Solugen CEO Gaurab Chakrabarti said in a press statement.
