In Italy, MAIRE announced that its subsidiary NEXTCHEM has been awarded a feasibility study to optimize and enhance the efficiency of an existing maleic anhydride facility in North America. The study, to be conducted by NEXTCHEM’s subsidiary CONSER, will leverage proprietary technology to revamp the facility and potentially increase its capacity.
Maleic anhydride is crucial for producing malic and fumaric acids, which are essential in the food industry for improving texture, flavor, and stability of products. This initiative underscores NEXTCHEM’s commitment to sustainable technology solutions and its expanding footprint in the food industry.
Alessandro Bernini, CEO of MAIRE, said, “This agreement shows the versatility of NEXTCHEM’s high-value technology proposition, enhancing our presence in new geographies.”
The project aims to assess and implement improvements to the maleic anhydride production process, ensuring enhanced efficiency and sustainability. This strategic move aligns with MAIRE’s broader objectives of advancing sustainable industrial processes and expanding its technological reach globally.
