September 11, 2024 |

In India, Money Control reports Gensol Engineering, in partnership with Matrix Gas, is set to establish India’s first Green Hydrogen Valley project in Pune, Maharashtra, supplying the specialty chemical sector with green hydrogen for 20 years. The plant will operate on a Build, Own, and Operate basis and utilize electrolysis technology to generate hydrogen, marking a significant step in the country’s clean energy transition.

The collaboration between Gensol and Matrix, both with common promoters, will also explore green derivatives like green steel and ammonia. Anmol Jaggi, Managing Director of Gensol, emphasized the company’s commitment to round-the-clock green hydrogen supply to bolster India’s green hydrogen economy. Chirag Kotecha, Whole-time Director of Matrix, highlighted the project’s selection through a competitive tender for both technical and commercial aspects.

As India accelerates its clean energy initiatives, the Green Hydrogen Valley project aligns with the government’s push to reduce carbon emissions in key industrial sectors. The venture aims to serve as a model for future hydrogen infrastructure development, positioning the country as a significant player in the global green energy space.
