September 12, 2024 |

In India, Mint reports state-owned oil and gas company BPCL has entered joint ventures with Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India and GPS Renewables to develop renewable energy and biogas projects across India, as part of its strategy to achieve net-zero emissions and diversify its energy portfolio.

BPCL will hold a 50% stake in both ventures. The partnership with Sembcorp will focus on green hydrogen and renewable energy projects, while the GPS Renewables collaboration will establish compressed biogas plants throughout the country. Both deals are pending regulatory approval.

This move supports India’s push for clean energy, helping reduce dependence on fossil fuels and contributing to the country’s climate goals. The projects are expected to generate jobs, boost local economies, and drive innovation in renewable technologies.
