In the Netherlands, TankMatch, a leading barge operator, and Evos, an independent liquid bulk storage provider, announced a strategic alliance to deliver green methanol bunkering services across the Amsterdam–Rotterdam–Antwerp region. With over 300 methanol-capable vessels expected to enter operation by 2028, the partnership aims to address the rising demand for sustainable marine fuels by offering a fully integrated storage and supply chain solution.
Evos is set to expand its terminal infrastructure with five new tanks, each with a capacity of 13,500 cubic meters. The facility, with pumping speeds of up to 750 cubic meters per hour, will enable faster and more efficient methanol bunkering. Customers will have the flexibility to store bio-, e-, or grey methanol, with the option for co-mingled or segregated storage based on their specific requirements.
TankMatch’s fleet, positioned at Evos’ strategically located Rotterdam terminal, will ensure rapid service, reaching the ARA ports within 10 hours. Marcel Jordens of TankMatch described the collaboration as a “game-changing solution” that integrates storage and bunkering, while Johannes Veldt of Evos emphasised the role this partnership plays in facilitating the maritime industry’s transition to cleaner, more sustainable energy sources.
