In Washington state, the Tri-State Herald reports Tidewater Terminals has opened its $6.1 million biodiesel hub at its Snake River facilities. Thanks to a $3.1 million HIIP USDA grant, the facility will provide biodiesel and ethanol for custom blending to serve markets in Eastern Washington, Eastern Oregon and Northern Idaho. BNSF Railway as well as farmers securing biodiesel for their tractors are expected to be amongst the future clients for the expanded facility that can blend up to 2 million gallons of renewable fuels per month.
