Molgas completes first bio-LNG bunkering at Port of Le Havre

October 9, 2025 |

In France, Manifold Times reports Madrid-based Molgas Energy Group completed its first bio-LNG bunkering operation at the Port of Le Havre on October 6, supplying a United European Car Carriers vessel and securing a long-term permit to begin regular fueling operations at the site.

“This achievement would not have been possible without the collaboration of our teams, the port, agents, and dockworkers, whose support was essential in ensuring such a successful outcome,” said the company. “By adding Le Havre, we strengthen our strategic network of clean energy supply, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable maritime mobility.”

Le Havre is a major hub of the French economy and a key maritime gateway to Europe.

UECC reported reducing well-to-wake CO₂ emissions by more than 107,000 tons in 2024 through the use of bio-LNG under its Sail for Change initiative, a 70% improvement over the 63,000-ton reduction achieved in 2023.
