In the US, ethanol production averaged 947,000 barrels per day (b/d), 39.77 million gallons daily, down 17,000 b/d from the week before.The four-week average for ethanol production stood at 955,000 b/d for an annualized rate of 14.64 billion gallons. Gasoline demand for the week remained high at 374.4 million gallons daily, despite another round of extreme winter weather. Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production was 10.62%.
Stocks of ethanol stood at 21.6 million barrels. That is a 2.4% increase from last week and the highest since 4/20/2012.
Imports of ethanol were zero b/d, unchanged from last week.
On the co-products side, ethanol producers were using 14.359 million bushels of corn to produce ethanol and 105,688 metric tons of livestock feed, 94,222 metric tons of which were distillers grains. The rest is comprised of corn gluten feed and corn gluten meal. Additionally, ethanol producers were providing 5.57 million pounds of corn distillers oil daily.
