In Washington state, the city of Bellevue is boosting the biodiesel blend of its captive fleet to 20% from the current 15% which will provide an additional 28 cents per gallon in savings, cutting around $25,000 annually from the city’s fuel bill. Seaport Petroleum supplies the used cooking oil-based biodiesel, with supposedly 51% of the UCO collected from within 50 miles of Seattle. The city latched on to Seattle’s supply contract to source the higher blended fuel.
