The Digest Bioeconomy Index, an index of publicly traded advanced bioeconomy stocks, gained 1.48 percent to 48.56 as ethanol equities surged. For the day, Aemetis (AMTX) soared 11.88 percent to $1.79 , while Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) sailed up 11.11 percent to $3.80. Among other equities, Solazyme (SZYM) rebounded 5.37 percent to $1.57. Overall, advances led declines by a 3 to 1 ratio for the day.
