The aromatic building blocks of the BioPET100 are made from glycerin from SunOil and the glycerin is converted to bio-aromatics with the help of catalytic pyrolysis technology of BioBTX.
It is also interesting to note that it unprecedented that secondary biomass feedstock be converted in polyester end-product and this shows the possibility of totally break the production of all plastics from fossil resources.
