D1 unloads its jatropha oil at $975/tonne

In the UK, D1 Oils says that it has sold all of its available 500 metric tons of Crude Jatropha Oil at an average selling price of $975—which is below what it anticipated but it now has a backlog of orders for over $1,000 per ton. Poor weather in India hit much of its crop but it is confident that demand continues to significantly outstrip supply, especially considering that palm oil is selling for $1,279 per ton, and it will soon be able to supply more buyers.
