In the UK, Anemoi Marine Technologies has partnered with Finnish maritime software giant NAPA to integrate weather routing and voyage optimization tools on Anemoi’s rotor sail equipped ships.
Through NAPA’s decision support tools, ship operators can tailor their navigation routes to effectively utilize Anemoi’s wind-assisted propulsion technology, considering both weather conditions and operational requirements.
The partnership is expected to have a substantial environmental impact, potentially saving up to 30% in fuel and reducing carbon emissions on optimally routed voyages. NAPA’s software will now be offered as an option in all future installations of Anemoi’s Rotor Sails, whether on new vessels or retrofits, noting the critical role of data in driving decarbonization efforts in the shipping industry.
