In Brazil, with a deadline of March 2023 to meet the goals for 2023, distributors with obligations to RenovaBio would already be able to meet the program’s objectives – at least, technically.
According to the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP), 5.5 million decarbonization credits (CBios) relating to the 2023 target were retired by the end of September. This volume, added to credits in circulation and those retired since then, reaches 40.84 million titles, equivalent to 99.7% of the updated target for 2023.
Despite this volume, the price of CBios recorded a third consecutive fortnight of increase. In the period from November 16th to 30th, the shares were traded, on average, at R$123.61 – an increase of 4.7% compared to the first half of the month and 23.9% compared to the same period in 2022.
