In Australia, ABC reported that the Tallawarra B power station is expected to transition from natural gas to 5% hydrogen mix by 2025. EnergyAustralia managing director Mark Collette said that plans were in place to increase the hydrogen mix to 20% using the current configuration of the imported GE turbine. “We do understand at the moment through the conversations we have had with GE, our supplier, that there are alterations that we can make to the turbine to increase the proportion of hydrogen that is burnt up to 60%,” he said. EnergyAustralia aims to buy 200,000 kilograms of green hydrogen per year from 2025, according to the report. The Tallawarra B station is expected to be operational later this year.
