#5 Scientists out of Bangladesh seek to leverage the area’s waste as a source of hydrogen

In Bangladesh, BDNews24 reported that scientists have begun investigating ways in which the nation’s growing waste problem could be pivoted into a feedstock for hydrogen production, with the scientists claiming that it is possible to generate 18.22 million tons of clean hydrogen fuel from millions of tons of annual waste. With this, Bangladesh joins countries like Australia, Japan, Germany, and South Korea that are making a strong push to implement hydrogen fuel into their economies. Currently, the project is in a piolet stage, with the hope that their hydrogen power plant will produce 5 megawatts of power from hydrogen produced in June 2020, initially meeting the energy demands of the research center before later supplying power to the nation’s energy grid.
