In Canada, the Winnipeg Free Press reports that the Composites Innovation Centre is making progress with biocomposites. According to the article, Buhler Industries conducted testing on their Versatile tractors during a Manitoba harvest.
The biocomposites were used in bumpers, a fan intake part and the hood, and reportedly held up just as well as traditional fiberglass laden parts. The fibers used were sourced from a courser agave fiber, combined with hemp.
