#8 Ecovative adds Reformation and Wolverine to roster of brand partners

In New York, mycelium textiles producer Ecovative has welcomed fashion brand Reformation into its Fashion for Good Cooperative and inked a separate deal with Wolverine Worldwide to evaluate its leather alternatives for use in Wolverine’s footwear.

Ecovative’s products are completely biobased, free of toxic chemicals, fully compostable, and grown on agricultural byproducts such as woodchips and seed hulls. The Reformation and Wolverine partnerships will focus on Ecovative’s Forager line of materials, which can place animal leather and plastic in fashion and apparel.

“Both [Reformation and Wolverine] represent an immense amount of market knowledge, a diverse family of products, and expertise in complex supply chains that will be crucial to applying our mycelium materials for maximum impact,” says Gavin McIntyre, Ecovative’s cofounder and Chief Commercial Officer. “Together we are taking a big step towards transforming these industries for the better.”

Fashion For Good partners already include Bestseller, Pangaia, PVH Corp and Vivobarefoot.
