The Biofuels Digest Index, an index of publicly traded biofuels stocks, jumped 1.44 percent to 64.10 as advanced biofuels rose. For the day, Syntroleum (SYNM) soared 35.77 percent to $3.34 on acquisition news from REG. Meanwhile, REG (REGI) also jumped, up 5.11 percent to $11.10. Among other equities, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) advanced 4.00 percent to $43.14. Overall, advances led declines 7 to 3 for the day.
