The Biofuels Digest Index, an index of publicly traded biofuels stocks, dumped 2.60 percent to 63.41 as an EPA proposal on renewable fuel volumes hit selected equities hard. For the day, Renewable Energy Group (REGI) shed 14.65 percent to $11.42, while Gevo (GEVO) retreated 13.79 percent to $1.50. Among other equities, Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) dropped 5.76 percent to $2.62. Overall, declines led advances 3 to 1 for the day.
