In Brazil, Reuters reports UNICA data shows H2 August ethanol production fell 21% on the year as mills continue to favor sugar production at just 2.16 billion liters. Ethanol sales also fell 13% during the period to 2.69 billion liters. Ethanol exports, primarily for medical use rather than for transportation, were up 25% so far this year since April which has helped to offset slower sales in the domestic market that has been negatively impacted by the global pandemic.
