Brazil says $38.5B needed to meet rising biofuel demand

In Brazil, the Energy Ministry’s expansion plan published this week says the country’s biofuels industry is going to need $38.5 billion between now and 2019 to fund expansion for ethanol and biofuels as a whole. Demand for ethanol will jump 90 percent to 64 billion liters in 2019 with the expansion of flex-fuel vehicles. Brazil will have to build 103 new ethanol mills during this period, of which 30 are under construction.
