In Brazil, Reuters reports the National Energy Policy Council won’t return to the previous blending mandate of 13% biodiesel and will keep it at 10% throughout 2022. The CNPE first cut the blending mandate in September due to high soy prices, but the cut was meant to be mandatory as the national policy increases the mandate by 1% annually until reaching 15%. High palm oil prices have slowed down the implementation of higher biodiesel blending mandates in Asia as well as the vegetable oil matrix remains strong globally.
