In Canada, Trains magazine reports that in late October Canadian Pacific’s hydrogen fuel cell working prototype engine successfully made its first maiden revenue run, pulling a full load a main line speed on the main line. It was the second main line run for the converted engine this year. Canadian Pacific has two hydrogen production facilities, one using solar power at its Calgary HQ and the other in Edmonton. The company hopes to have three engines converted and running on hydrogen in Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver by the end of next year.
