In Australia, Cauldron Ferm, a cutting-edge biomanufacturer, announced the appointment of David Weiner as Chief Technology Officer. Weiner, a biotech industry veteran with experience at Solugen and BASF, will steer the technology R&D pipeline, supporting Cauldron’s global expansion.
Founded in 2022, Cauldron’s strength is its proprietary “hyper-fermentation” technology, designed to reduce the cost of bio-manufactured goods. This technology addresses high production costs, enabling bio-products to compete with traditional petrochemical and animal-derived products. Having proven its efficacy at the 10,000-liter demo scale, Cauldron plans to scale up further.
Over the past year, Cauldron has onboarded six clients at their 25,000-liter demo facility and secured a Series A funding round of over $6.25 million. The company’s growth is driven by technical advancements and a strong foundation in continuous fermentation R&D.
