Chinese biodiesel exporters promise vigilance in compliance and export standards

In China, Bloomberg reports an association representing China’s largest biodiesel exporters has promised to be better at ensuring compliance and export standards for supplies going into Europe following complaints from the European Waste-Based & Advanced Biofuels Association that fraudulent biodiesel exports were sinking the EU market. EWABA has encourage the European Union, German and Dutch governments to take action against the exporters, which the Chinese hope to avoid. Chinese biodiesel exports to Europe increased 40% in 2022 and are expected to nearly double from that level in 2023.
