City of Calgary gives land use permission to proposed $900M Future Energy Park

In Canada, the Calgary Herald newspaper reports that the City of Calgary has given land use approval to the proposed C$1.2B Future Energy Park that Green Impact Partners is developing in the southeast part of the city. The facility is meant to turn non-food-grade wheat into 300 million liters of ethanol, 3.5 million MMBtu of biogas and 235,000 metric tons of animal feed annually. Construction is set to begin this spring with commissioning expected in 2025.
